Expert photo restoration can save irreplaceable heirloom pictures and preserve an important part of your family history. Old prints are even harder to replace so it makes sense to protect them by making digital copies.
Services available are:
* High resolution scanning and conversion to a digital image

* Fixing of faded or discoloured areas
* If desired, recomposing photo to better suit the subject
* Sepia images can be converted to black and white
* Removal of small scratches
* Removal of complex scratches such as those to faces or hands
* Removal of unwanted people or objects
* Repair of large or multiple tears
* Restoration of extensively damaged areas
Once you discovered a valuable picture don't put off making it safe and sharing it with the rest of the family. A beautifully restored picture makes an unusual, unique and very personal gift.
Restoration is time consuming that we could never charge the client what it really cost in terms of time and effort. Old photographs are often sepia, that is, shades of brown, through to light cream and consequently the correct colouring must be used for the re-touching otherwise it will not look authentic. We use parts of the photograph that are of good quality to correct the parts that are damaged.
Restoration Prices
Photo restoration - £25 for the first hour then £15 for each subsequent hour (The restoration process can take between one to two hours for most photos).
Prints are available on gloss, lustre or metallic paper surface.
Lustre - recommended for images that will be behind glass.
Metallic - has a 3D appearance, promoting rich vibrant colours and intense blacks particularly appealing with black and white images or colour images with high saturation. Prices are 30% on top of the standard print prices.
